The Schumacher Easy Cut II high performance TANDEM cutting system consists of a blade with individually bolted sections.
The cutter blades are arranged in an alternating configuration for clean, quiet operation and minimised wear. If necessary, blade guide rollers are also available, which keep the blade pressed in the optimum cutting position and considerably reduce vibration and blade wear.
The dual blade carrier tines (with screw-mounted upper and lower sections) are extremely sturdy and closely spaced to prevent the risk of foreign objects passing through and damaging the blades.
The planetary gear transmission is an extraordinarily effective solution allowing very high cutting rates (1,220 cuts/minute) and maintains a perfectly straight blade alignment for superior mechanical efficiency, optimised power transmission and low maintenance costs.

An electronic cutter bar control system, which keeps the cutter bar uniformly aligned in all terrain and crop conditions. The Autocontrol system uses sensors on large metal fingers to automatically follow the terrain and maintain the settings made by the operator. The operator settings for automatic lateral cutter bar adjustment, cutting height and ground pressure are managed and maintained by the electronic control unit of the combine harvester, maximising comfort and performance and cutting job times. The system also automatically damps cutter bar oscillation during transport to protect the mechanical components of the combine harvester.

The proportional pick-up reel is equipped with six bars, each carrying a set of extremely resilient and flexible plastic teeth, which are easily replaceable and settable at an adjustable angle.
The pick-up reel is mounted on arms sliding on Teflon guides (for quick, precise hydraulic adjustment of tooth inclination), and is adjustable in position horizontally or vertically relative to the cab, to cater ideally for different harvesting conditions.
The pick-up reel may be synchronised with ground speed. Once the driver initially sets both the ground and pick-up reel speeds, when the ground speed of the combine harvester is subsequently increased or decreased, the pick-up reel speed is automatically adjusted to maintain the same proportion between the two parameters.

Two special kits for installation on the cutter bars are available for harvesting sunflower seeds and rapeseed.
The sunflower seed kit consists of special extensions used simultaneously together with a smooth cylinder (installed in front of the feeder auger) and a toothed roller (mounted under the cutter bar instead of the pick-up reel, which is removed) to harvest the crop efficiently and quickly.
The kit for rapeseed differs from the sunflower seed kit as it also includes an extension for the table and a vertical cutter blade on the right hand side of the hydraulic transmission (or with a blade on the left hand side, as an option).

The feeder channel of the new C9000 Series implements the innovative “Extra Feeding” system: this channel is longer than standard channels to allow for the use of large cutter bars.
The feed roller feeds the machine continuously and uniformly, significantly increasing productivity and drastically reducing power demand and fuel consumption. And as it operates continuously, the system prevents the risk of feeder channel and threshing system overload, significantly reducing maintenance.

The hydraulic inversion system plays an extremely important role, as it allows the direction of the feeder channel and bar may be inverted to prevent the risk of feed system overload.

In the standard configuration, the cutting angle on C9000 Series models is adjusted with mechanical tie-rods on both sides. If necessary, an electrohydraulic cutting angle system is available as an option, which optimises cutter bar position in relation to terrain conditions to significantly increase harvesting efficiency.

The C9000 Series is equipped with the extraordinary “Maxi crop” system, which significantly increases the versatility of the machine and maximises threshing efficiency even in the most challenging conditions.
The generously sized threshing drum (600 mm in diameter, 1.52 m in width) has eight rasp bars (screw-mounted for easy replacement) for an extremely effective threshing action.
Crop enters the threshing drum horizontally for uniform, blockage-free feed; while the synchronised straw beater situated behind the threshing drum has an additional grille for an even larger separation area and more effective spreading of the crop over the surface of the straw walkers.
The exclusive Maxi Crop system lets the driver select five different positions for the Turbo-separator (with ten toothed rasp bars) electronically from the cab, with a drum excursion from 25 mm (most closed position for maximum separation action) to 65 mm (minimised straw damage).

The concave also has fifteen rasp bars arranged with a pitch of 121 degrees, for superlative threshing and separation efficiency.
The input and output distances between the concave and the threshing drum at the front and rear are independently adjustable by electric actuators controlled by the Commander Control system.
The multi-segment concave (4 mm wire diameter) has been specifically designed to allow immediate reconfiguration of the combine harvester when needed for different crops: the standard segments are simply removed the segments from the stone guard cavity of the concave and replaced with specific segments for the crop.

The threshing drum is equipped with an efficient variable speed transmission making is possible to set the ideal speed for each crop: the speed may be set and electronically maintained within a range from 420 to 1250 rpm, while an automatic variable speed transmission tensioner system protects belts and threshing drum against overloading. For particularly delicate crops, and additional reduction gear unit (easily installable, thanks to the flanged configuration of the threshing drum) is also available to reduce the operating speed range of the threshing drum to a lower 210 - 625 rpm.

The straw walkers have a very large surface area and are particularly long to ensure perfect separation of the grain from the straw; while the first step of the straw walkers is deeper that the others, to slow the flow of crop exiting the threshing system and further improve the efficiency of the first stage of separation.
The straw walkers are mounted on special, hermetically sealed bearings, which reduce noise and power loss and increase the lifespan of the shaft and of the straw walkers themselves.
And for even greater separation efficiency, the straw walkers may be fitted with specific crests, while the return pan may be specifically configured so that the crop already reaches the grain pan in stratified form.

The sieves are mechanically operated and adjusted with levers, and are easily removable and fitted with tall separator blades.
A system for electric sieve adjustment from the Commander Control is available as an option.
Using dual sensors and a control bar extending along the entire length of the threshing tank, the sieve control system monitors the productivity of the combine harvester precisely.
A high performance 400 mm diameter tangential flow turbine with 44 vanes ensures a constant air flow. The air flow volume is controlled by deflectors which advance or retard air delivery to the sieve for uniform delivery over the entire length of the tank.

The recovery system ideally redistributes material that has already be treated over the grain pan: a solution that prevents threshing system overload and the risk of grain breakage or increased straw walker grain loss.
The DGR uses friction inserts (with interchangeable types for different crops) to exert an additional threshing action on the recovered grain.
The recovery rate is monitored continuously and an alarm signal warns of overload conditions.

The discharge pipe has a capacity of the 90 lt/sec, ensuring the tank is emptied extremely quickly. The 4.5 metre high discharge outlet means that the tank may be emptied even when moving, and allows product to be transferred easily even into large trailers.
Measuring 6 metres in length and with a generous 110 degrees of mobility, the discharge pipe means that the combine harvester can work with a large range of cutting widths, and ensures that the operator has a clear view of the discharge outlet at all times.
The aperture and closer of the discharge pipe is be controlled easily from the cab via the Commander Control.

Like the straw chopper, the chaff spreader is designed to distribute material over even the broadest cutter bars, for perfect mixing of the chopped material. 
The transfer pan (which transfers the product to be processed) ensures uniform chaff distribution, while a conveyor with metal chutes directs the chaff to the four-blade rotors.
Optimised distribution is ensured by deflectors that are adjustable to cater for different operating conditions.

Power is taken off from both ends of the crankshaft, making it possible to separate hydraulic and mechanical functions, and ensuring a direct transmission system with no power losses.
This also means that fewer drive belts are used, and that the belts themselves are more accessible, reducing the running costs for the combine harvester.

An exhaust aftertreatment system with EGR valve and SCR ensures compliance with EU stage 4 specifications (Tier 4 Final). The EGR and SCR systems (the latter using AdBlue® additive) reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. A new self-cleaning filter further improves the quality of the air fed into the engine, for superior efficiency even in very dry and dusty conditions.

The four-speed hydrostatic transmission lets the driver maintain the ideal speed for all harvesting conditions. The ideally spaced ratios ensure that there is always plenty of torque on tap to tackle even the most critical traction conditions.

The CCM (Combine Control Management) module lets the driver monitor all the productivity parameters of the combine harvester: total and partial processed terrain area count, hourly production, losses, recovery level in relation to grain size and cutter bar position.
The module also continuously monitors vital machine parameters such as total threshing hours and partial and total hours of engine operation.
The CCM module uses a membrane keypad with 14 backlit buttons.

All the functions of the transmission, the pick-up reel and the cutter bar, and the position and operation of the grain unloading auger, are controllable from the CommanderStick.
The ergonomic design of the CommanderStick offers the operator precise, intuitive control over the combine harvester in complete safety, with class beating levels of comfort.

For excellent visibility at night, the machine is equipped with four fixed lamps illuminating the cutter bar plus four directional spotlights (two of which may be replaced with optional LED units to further increase the area illuminated), and with two rear work lights, a spotlight on the grain tank, a spotlight on the discharge pipe and two rotating beacons indicating when the tank is full.
As an option, two xenon lights may be installed on the cab roof to increase the illuminated area.
The standard lights may be complemented with the “Visibility Pack”, which adds the following elements: two lights for illuminating the rear of the bar, two work lights on the handrails (recommended for harvesting maize), two lateral work lights (recommended for illuminating windrows) and four lateral maintenance lights (two per side) illuminating the entire area subject to regular and unscheduled maintenance.
